Straight Ahead

It was time for us to start getting ready to return to the rural community of Selawik, Alaska to teach another year in the arctic. We put the truck on the ferry and traveled to Juneau to do the last of our shopping. You could mail 70 lbs for $15, it was a great deal. We would load up all of food and supplies for the whole year and send it up. Fruits, vegetables and meats were the only things we could not mail up. The ferry ride was great, it was flat calm and sunny. We enjoyed the ferry ride and last minute of the great weather. Original photo take on August 5th, 2003.
